Expert forensic consultation grounded in
behavioral science & investigative integrity

About

At Sentinel Assessments & Forensic Evaluations (SAFE), we work with organizations and our communities  to prevent abuse, strengthen safety systems, and respond effectively when risk emerges.

Founded by forensic criminologist Dr. Heather Manning, SAFE brings together behavioral science, investigative expertise, and trauma-informed practices to help institutions protect the most vulnerable.

Through specialized training, strategic consulting, and expert forensic analysis, SAFE supports organizations including law enforcement, childcare providers, educational institutions, nonprofits, and legal teams working in cases involving abuse and exploitation.

At Sentinel Assessments & Forensic Evaluations (SAFE), our mission is to help institutions protect vulnerable populations through prevention, expertise, and accountability. Our work is grounded in forensic criminology and focuses on identifying the patterns, systems, and behaviors that allow abuse and exploitation to occur.

Training
SAFE provides advanced training programs designed to help organizations recognize grooming behaviors, boundary violations, and early warning indicators of abuse. Our programs equip staff and leadership with the tools to prevent misconduct, respond appropriately to disclosures, and create safer environments for children and vulnerable individuals.

Consultancy
We partner with organizations to assess institutional risk, strengthen safety policies, and develop prevention frameworks such as the SAFE Child Institutional Protection Model. Our consulting services help organizations move beyond compliance to build systems that actively prevent abuse and exploitation.

Expert Witness
Dr. Heather Manning serves as a forensic expert in cases involving sexual abuse, trafficking, and institutional negligence. Through behavioral analysis, case review, and expert testimony, SAFE helps courts and legal teams understand the complex dynamics of abuse, victimization, and offender behavior.
